Head full of shit

I´m here, but I have my head so full that I´m afraid to blog. Blogging feels like a leakage, and these days I don´t have time to hire a plumber! hah nice one. I´ll be back, and that is a promise.

No way for Nor way?

Since it looks like this is turning in to only my blog (hvor f er du K?) I would like to say Happy Holidays as I am going home to Norway very soon indeed. I am working on an essay now, and it so boring I am about to head to CKY. Not CKY 2k, nor Cky 3, nor Cky 4(!) (thats the one where Raab himself shits on a glass window), but making my own nr 5! todays pen is the beautiful font of New Times Roman(it works as a pen, doesn't it??). I will be lucky if i write 3 sentences the next hour...

A wonderful thing about blogs is when you cant think of anything to write, so you just write and see what comes out. like right now, I havnt a clue what im going to write about. A bit like when im improvising on my guitar. You just have to feel it and go for it, you know? alright seriously guys, this is going to be dead boring if I dont take a couple of minutes to think of something interesting to tell you about. Okay, time up. ehh... well that went good! You can see that in the next sentence!

Steve Jordan

Check this, you might not of heard of this guy, but you have probally heard him play.  Steve Jordan has played with them all; Rolling Stones, Clapton, Mayer, Crow bla bla bla. But taking yesterdays blog one step futher, I was on youtube and checkin out Steve, and find this perfect example of a guy who understands the place where everybody should feel and reseive music commenting on the youtube clip; "I was there too. Insane Steve Jordan plays sooo deep and smoth in that pocket. I was Freshly trippin out the whole consert. Steve was so lous i could feel the bass drum in my chest and legs and the snare in my head and jaw. It was fuckin nuts."

Please, do yourself a favor, get in the pocket, and let the groove of this guy take control.

okay, if its okay, I would like to share with you guys a studio session I just came back from. Just recorded a couple of songs with a jazz band i´m in. But this time I had a slightly different approach to my playing. The thing with music is if you speak it and don't play it, you will play it through speaking, and not the other way around. Today my guitar wasn't  speaking, it was singing  along. Hendrix once said: "my goal is to be one with music. I just dedicate my whole life to this art". Thats why he was never playing his guitar, he was speaking through it. listen to the stuff he did with Band of Gypsis, Machine Gun for example. I swear, that shit will trip you out. But only because his message is so strong, cause its through the music as well of as the lyrics. Gustav Mahler once said: "If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music." It is so true, so please do yourself a favor and think about it, find your favorite tunes and come to the planet of the people with the same piece of mind, it is beautiful.

-As was my psyc teacher´s statement earlier today while lecturing about learning to speak and linguistics (case you didn´t notice: he has an insane obsession with dogs (+ kids and sex btw), so he HATES cats and makes improper jokes about them all over the place). BUt what I wanted to say in a brief blogging moment is that: I checked out Aarons blog, and it is so neat. Why haven´t we got a nice blog like that?? DADDEY!? Feel like that cat right now, with a cute little kid pointing at me, sayin in a sweet little voice: 'Useless'.

Alright. Been a little while, but it´s chill. I know your cool with that. I mean you did you miss my blog that much!? Who am I kidding.  lets get started. This weekend has been hectic. you know when you come home from work and you hit the sofa like you've just jumped 30 feet into a pool. And then you realize you don´t have any food, and really don´t have the money to have a delivery, so force yourself down to the store, only to buy beans and toast. yupp, proper british style. whamm the beans in the micro, burn the toast `cause all your concentration goes to not leaving the beans in the micro to long. Maybe put on some music, only to find your iPod is out of battery. Look at your watch and realize its only 7 pm. Is seven pm to early to go to bed you ask yourself. You know, seven is a hard one. 9ish you can normally sleep through the whole night, but seven... damn.. you know? (Dammit - I lost my point now!)  "Stress is when you wake up screaming and realize you havn´t fallen asleep yet" someone told me once. So now you know that:)

Been thinking a lot about these blogging apples lately, and I can ashure you if you dont get anything of what all that nonesence is about, were in the same boat. THEREFORE, I am going to start writing about pens. Pens are absolutly amazing. Think about it! Till now in my life I must of had my hands on at least 10 000 pens. And I was thinking walking the grey streets of liverpool making a kind of map of all the pens in the world, and linked everybody thats used that same pen as you together. A bit like that Facebook thing, "you have 76 friends in commen", but in whos used whos pen! sick right? I swear we could link up the whole world, and everybody's "pen friends in commen" would be like a huge number!! OK! - iknow, i know, im getting exited, but at least we could give it a try guys? Ah if you mean the micro owen down the hall; used it once for a wonton soup I hated, and swore I would never use a micro-o again, and in the same time remembered that this was already sworn a year ago after baking bread in micro in Bdx (HOW can one forget!???) But I do however have a water-boiler and a huge bag of oatmeal, AND 4 boxes of tuna which I cannot btw eat because I don´t have a can-opener, and while I´m on it: I also have a pretty red reading-lamp from IKEA which I cannot use because I haven´t bothered to buy a light-bulb yet (after 2 months). 

What I also have is this satanstestikkel paper due tomorrow, and all I want to want to become my will is to just be REALLY mature and say that I don´t CARE if we have freedom of will or not, because does it really matter? We are here and now, and for every instance of time there is a different stream of thought and nervous impulses related to different circumstances, and we act upon that whether we want it or not, conscious or unconscious. But never mind, I could go on forever about this, but not here for godssake -just wanted to write status quo and there you go! Blogging is addictive and it is kind of a meditation. Or maybe it is not addictive, in that case I am a willing addict (ahhh here we go again); I have what we call 2nd order volitions that, seen that I want to want to blog and I actually do it, is according to (a great philosopher called) Frankfurt an act of free will, and I do agree. BUT now I feel kind of like an unwilling addict, that does not want to want to blog, but does it anyway. Ok I almost promise that I will stop posting all this crap now, and actually finish up work so that I can have closure (sounds like a CSI case) of my frustrations and enjoy SWEET weekend. Or as I have made my motto: YES WE-KEND!! (I felt Andrews shoulder so bad right now)

Today has been hectic. I mean, got up at noon, already late for my first class. Improv with Steve Berry, those of you who know who that is, know what I mean. Straight to soundcheck at three at Novac here in Liverpool, then back up to rehearsal with Subsound (that everybody should check out!!! reggae music for the people). Home half hour to eat spaghetti from yesterday, straight to gig at eight. gig played, LETS HIT THE BAR!!!! ehh.. NO! second set needs to be done, that actually went better than the first if you ask me.. alright, now lets hit that god damn bar! NO!!! back home, here I am waiting for my chicken pie before I need to go to a Studio session at midnight with Andreas from Albino Superstars. Lets bet how long thats gonna last before i pass out, before I need to get up at 0830 tomorrow. life's a bitch and than you die someone told me. right... think I´ve got that.

Anyway, my chicken pie is ready now, and i am going to heavily  munch it..

Ok so this is how it goes. Every Godforsaken day I ask myself 'what is the purpose of life, if THIS is how it is gonna be'. I mean, if you invented the gramophone, you are most likely to know how to play those sweet records, but no: -They invented the noodles, but do NOT know how to eat them!!  Every day I find myself being slurped to insanity, I don´t know how much longer I can take this pain................ need..... peace...... 

64 box or 8 box set???

Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's ok though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation. So when i meet someone who's an 8-color type... I'm like, "hey girl, magenta!" and she's like, "oh, you mean purple!" and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, "no - I want magenta!"

Meditations and volitions

In between volitions, freedom, will and necessity, I´m saying Salaam to the very neat update made by Monsieur in Liverpool, who is also now Monsieur president II on/in/at (??) Home Bakery. Or as I´m thinking about it, I suggest a Russian model with both a president AND a prime minister (greedy russians)? I am also having a discussion with myself whether or not it is free will to show up in hotpants and transparent legs tomorrow, preforming the very exquisite interpretations of "maneater" and "womanizer" in front of an ungrateful crowd, -NOT judging the chugachug down and bodyripple-moves, but type: braa brød! aiai, julia "the hammer" lammer says HI, and dreams about steaks of different sizes in different sauces, that will be her will in near future. Extravaganza!

Life just keeps on going - ikkesant?

Heres the thing. In the UK there is not one tap for hot and cold, but one separate for each. Another thing is there are no dishwashers in the country. Alright, all this is still chill... But heres the deal, eventually you build up a pile of stuff that you kind of really don't know who belongs to of who lives in the flat(we are four). Well, this time this pile got big as you can see and there was no way I could stand another day waking up to this. During the hours with water and soap on my hands, I got to listen through John Scofields record "That's what I say". Basically he's playing the music of Ray Charles with top musicians such as Steve Jordan, John Mayer, Willie Weeks and so on... And suddenly everything got done (with a little help from Joss Stone, Herbie Hancock and Chet Baker) and we (Aaron, my flat-mate did it together) and I actually thought this aint bad at all. You get to hang out, listen to music, talk shit, deep shit as well actually. Well anyways, I enjoyed it and you should try.

I´m still alien to this whole blogging world (and I keep wanting to write blog with to g´s, scandi style), but I feel I´m in a steep learning curve here, and good to go as I am in fact writing now AND has started a new applefest here in Home Bakery. If people have a desire for an apple, they should most def check in here to drule a bit, before choosing an apple random that they didn´t really like that much and think that they should have much rather chosen m&m or beef jerkey (not that I understand why anyone would EVER want that!!) BUT now I forgot the whole purpose of this long sentence that has ended up being a discourse in itself about something that happened long ago, I guess this is what can be called a stream of thought, except for the water that belongs in another stream, even though I know that stream is not meant literarily and I made a unnecessary comment about the water that was meant funny and random but ended up as a dull pointless remark. ahh sacre bleu- END!!  Well as I truly and utterly am the grand master of procrastination, I will end this note admitting that i only posted this to avoiding facing Frankfurt and his 2. order volitions that I am supposed to have a ball with here in Cariboo 206, and by saying this, the whole learning curve point sort of also bit my ass.
